Hanoi to Saigon by train in 2013, part 3 – Danang to Saigon – The Vietnam Trip

The car we’d arranged from the travel agency in Hoi An had cost us 280,000, paid in advance. He was 10 minutes early, but we were ready. There was little traffic, and it’s a good road to Danang, so it was a fast trip. 40 minutes.

The sheets had not been changed on the bunks, and were grubby. I found some fresh ones stored above the urn, and changed mine. After eating we turned the lights off – at about 8. The train stopped a couple of times only during the night, the last being at Na Trang about midnight.

There is a kind of taxi queue. We waited for it to calm down, then agreed a fare. The taxi controller gave us a card with the number plate on it, and the driver took us to the hotel and accepted the fare with no quibbles.
