Repairing appliances in Malaysia

When you buy an electrical appliance here the salesperson plugs it in and turns it on briefly to see if it works.  In the case of most shops, if you walk out of the shop having purchased an appliance, and if it immediately stops working you do not get a replacement. You have to hand over your purchase and it goes back for repair. Which might take a month. And you are deprived of your item for that time.

Things break down rather quickly here.  I don’t know if it is the climate or other factors.  So beware.
