Current podcasts – 2018

I like to listen to podcasts while doing something else – gardening, cooking, exercising.  I cover a number of topics – politics, technology, films, health, current affairs, history, German etc. Here are most of the podcasts I currently keep up with – but I don’t listen to any particular podcast if the topic doesn’t interest me. They are very loosely separated into categories:

conversaciones en español 1

Los dos tenemos ganas de practicar español otra vez. En el pasado, P. vivía en México y España. Yo vivía en Chile. No hay muchas oportunidades de hablar español aquí.

P. y yo no hemos encontrado por mucho tiempo – desde el año pasado – y tenemos mucho de qué hablar.

Hemos hablado sobre vacaciones de este año. P. quiere tomar algunas vacaciones, pero todavía no ha decidido dónde. Tal vez Phuket o en algún otro lugar cerca, porque ella no le gustan los paseos largos en aviones. Para mí, intento ir a Vietnam y Sabah este año. Y tal vez a otro lugar más lejos.

Discutimos las playas buenas. Desafortunadamente las playas aquí en Penang son sucias. No las importa la población local.  Tambien hay medusas. En el este de Malasia, las playas son mejores y más limpios. Sobre todo en las islas. Por ejemplo las islas Perhentian.

Estos días subo Penang Hill dos veces por semana. Se tarda dos horas, más o menos. Sin embargo, es difícil apacar en el Jardín Botánico entre las siete y media y las nueve. Estoy pensando en comenzar a las siete de mañana por la mañana. Los amigos de P. usualmente comenzan a las siete.

También hablamos sobre las restaurantes aquí. A P. le gusta “No Eyed Deer” que tiene un menú variado, y no es caro. A mí, me gusta el almuerzo buffet de E & O, Miraku restaurante japonés, y un restaurante coreano que se llama “Daorae Korean BBQ”. P. ha dicho que “That Little Wine Bar” es bueno para conocer gente, pero las bebidas son caras.

Español en Penang

Hace 15 años pude yo hablar español bastante bien. Yo vivía en Santiago de Chile, y usaba español por los negocios y la vida. Desde eso tiempo, no tuve la oportunidad de practicar. Que lástima.

Ahora vivo aquí en Penang, y estudio alemán. Desafortunadamente, cuando trato de hablar alemán, mezclo español y alemán en mi mente. Cuando puedo hablar mejor, no será un problema, y este es la solución. Tengo que mejorar mi español y mi alemán. Y lo mejor es practicar con alguien. Por lo menos, una vez a la semana. Sin embargo, creo que poco gente que habla español vive en Penang, y por eso, no es fácil. Tal vez, una amiga va a organizar algo, donde gente puede practicar juntos, el año que viene.
